I am writing this from the Pre-Op room at the hospital as Bev is having an EKG and blood work in preparation for the second surgery related to her double mastectomy.
The initial surgery was conducted four months ago, and recovery have been steady. Bev has experienced a fair amount of discomfort, but the medical team serving her have been excellent.
We have been completely blown away by the faithfulness of God’s people praying for her. We both want to express our deepest thanks for standing with us during this challenging time.
We also wanted to invite you to join us in praying for Bev’s second surgery which is scheduled for next Monday, January 7. The surgery is scheduled for 8:30 in the morning and should last about 90 minutes. We would be sooooo grateful for your prayers!
I have been impressed beyond words by Bev’s courage and the depth of her trust in Jesus throughout this breast cancer journey.
Yesterday we celebrated our 42nd anniversary. When we first married she promised that life would not be boring . . . and boy, was she was right! About six months after tying the knot, we were introduced to Christ as Savior and nothing on the planet is more important than making that decision to enter into a close relationship with the God of all creation.
One of the quotes of the quotes of C.S. Lewis, keeps ringing in our ears: “Is [God] safe?” “Oh, no, He’s not safe. But He is good!”
The Lord will often stretch us outside of our comfort zone into a place that we have to trust in Him alone. That’s where we are right now. The good news is that a good loving God is there with us every step of the way.
Love in Christ,
