Bev Update 7.26.13

Dear Friends,

Today was a hard day for Bev and me. We visited her radiologist, and he showed us the results of her latest MRI. The Lumbar (lower portion) of the spine is infected with large cancerous tumors on each of the five vertebrae. We were unaware of this, but it does provide us the reason for her extreme discomfort in this area.

Tomorrow we return to the hospital for the outstanding staff to prepare Bev for a series of 15 radiation treatments in this area along with vertebrae T-7, which is located on the spine around the height of the shoulder blade.

We remain incredibly thankful for all the prayers on Bev’s behalf. We remain completely confident in our Lord: in His amazing love, His almighty power, and His unfathomable wisdom. We keep asking each other: How do people face this with any type of peace and keep their wits about them when they don’t know Jesus and His tender love for them? Do they wonder what will happen to them when they pass away? What comfort in knowing with certainty that we will spend eternity with God Himself, our loved ones, and all those who know Christ as their savior.

I remain so grateful that I am married to a godly woman that I love more than my life and have been for 42 years.

Warmly in Christ,
Howard Dayton

  5. Hi Howard, we are praying daily for Bev’s healing. It was so good to chat with her last week. I pray we will have a chance to get together soon. Is there anyway to become more involved with your new ministry?

  8. Bev and Howard,

Though it has been many years since we were with you two, the fond memories of our times at Crown remain with us. And now, we have taken a shot to the heart as we follow the reports about Bev’s current struggles. The fragile nature and uncertainty of daily life are so evident – especially when they hit so close to home. We pray earnestly for Bev – most especially for her continued trust in the Lord, Philippians 4:8 (….. if there is any praise, dwell on these things) gives good counsel too as to what we should do, even in times of great discouragement.

Love you guys – Bill and Beannie

  9. You are such an inspiration! My family is greatly indebted to you, and we are praying for you and Bev and all your family!
