I just experienced the best day of my life!
I met with John, my son’s boss at the Orlando Rescue Mission. John is a former attorney who practiced law for 25 years before transitioning to serve in ministry. He is a seasoned leader and has been a wonderful mentor for my son, Matt.
Matt, has served at the Mission for 13 years as the Youth Director for 60 homeless kids. Think challenging! Think chaos . . . children many of whom come from dysfunctional backgrounds!
Then think of a remarkably loving environment, and caring instruction and discipline.
For 30 minutes, John described Matt as a very, very godly person. Someone who has grown to become an outstanding leader in every respect. Someone who loves God’s word and teaches it faithfully to the kids at the Mission. Someone who has a burden for as many of the children as possible to come to know Christ as their Savior.
It was the best day of my life. The only way I can describe the feeling is this: “I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth” (3 John 4). For those of us who are parents, we can experience no greater joy than learning of our children walking closely with Jesus Christ.
Let’s all pray that by God’s grace our children will walk in the truth.
Warmly in Christ,
