Starting Well

In Luke 8, Jesus tells the parable of the farmer who scattered seed. He explains to the disciples the seed is God’s word and there are some soils where it just won’t flourish. But when the seed falls on fertile soil, great things happen.
Our desire is that during your financial discipleship journey, you have the opportunity to plant seeds that flourish – that help you grow and help others grow as you learn, apply and multiply everything God says about money – for His glory!
Not sure where to start? This guide can help, giving you opportunities to bear fruit during every stage of your financial discipleship journey.

Financial Discipleship 101

Every journey starts somewhere and our 101 resources are perfect for you if you are new to the journey of a Financial Disciple or are curious to learn what it’s all about.
These resources include collections of topical videos, a variety of reading tools, a selection of live webinars, and a series of YouVersion Bible reading plans.
Each is designed to help you learn and apply what the Bible teaches about money and possessions, and each includes a simple and realistic way to multiply what you learn by sharing or studying with a friend, family member, or coworker.
Financial Discipleship 201

The core of Compass’ system of learning is our series of financial discipleship studies.
Our small group studies are highly interactive, including prayer, reading, activities, reflection, and response sections making them great for one-on-one, in a group of three or four, or in larger groups of up to twelve people. These studies include Building Your Finances God’s Way, Set Your House in Order, Give, Save & Spend and Charting Your Legacy.
Sign up for one of our online studies, join a group in your own community, or take advantage of our free Leader Training and lead a group of your own.

Financial Discipleship 301

The final piece of Compass’ system of learning pushes us all into the life-long calling of Christ to continue learning, applying, and multiplying everything the Bible teaches and instructs.
Based on Jesus’ own model for making disciples, the One More program teaches and equips us to lead others into greater obedience to Jesus in every area of their lives, including their finances. The One More program uses a strategically-selected series of books to read and discuss including Humility by Andrew Murray, Trusting God by Jerry Bridges, Financial Discipleship by Peter Briscoe and Master Plan of Evangelism by Robert Coleman.
Whether you are leading or being led, this course of study will change your eternal trajectory and help you learn, apply, and multiply God’s instruction on money and possessions.
Finishing Well

In our journey with the Lord, it’s not how we start that matters, it’s how we finish. And while God desires for us to do well, He also desires for others to do well. Finishing well isn’t just about growing on our journey, it’s about helping others grow on theirs too. Being faithful on our journey and helping others be faithful on theirs is what financial discipleship is all about!
Our prayer for you is that you would finish well and bear much fruit. That you would hear the words of Jesus ringing in your ears throughout eternity, “Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your master!”
