First Date Anniversary

On Wednesday, May 19, 1970, I wore a pink shirt.

How do I remember that? Do I have some crazy smart brain that remembers the smallest details? No, that was my first date with Bev. Since that time we’ve had a tradition of celebrating the anniversary of our first date, and yes, I wear a pink shirt.

We just celebrated anniversary # 44, and it’s one we won’t forget. We started with a visit to Bev’s oncologist, and learned that the cancer markers in her blood, have decreased the last two months from 31 (normal for remission) to 28 and further to 23! Her doctor assured her that this was a very, very good indicator! Later, two new doctors prescribed ointments that solved very painful side effects of her chemo treatments.

As we reflected on the goodness of God, we realized that occasionally blessings in the midst of trials seen to happen all at once. I believe the Lord designs the timing so that we can know that He alone is orchestrating the events out of His love and kindness.

How has demonstrated His love for you lately?

Gratefully in Christ,

Howard Dayton

When the leader of our Service Center in Orlando, shared, I was surprised to learn from Kelly Laughridge that we are receiving about 2,000 calls—a month! Many of the callers are from our radio audience asking for advice or wanting to Continue reading Challenges and Blessings
