My wife, Bev, and I met with her oncologist this afternoon to learn if her breast cancer has metastasized to her bones. There was good news and there was challenging news.
Many of you have joined us in praying that the spots on her pelvis and spine would not be cancer, or if it is, that the breast cancer would only be attacking the bone. He confirmed that it is the breast cancer and that the only place it is in evidence is in the bone. The strength of the bones have been compromised, but they can recover much of the lost strength.
The doctor also told us that this cancer is never completely eradicated. According to him, the best we can hope for is that the cancer would go into remission and there is a very high likelihood this will occur.
We have been overwhelmed with the prayers, encouragement and the helpful counsel of so many of you personally.
Bev is going to fight this cancer three ways: (1) Spiritually, by prayer, staying in God’s word, meditating on His promises and love, and staying connecting to her family and friends. (2) Medicine, by using the best doctors and treatments available. (3) Alternative treatments, by eating a really healthy diet and getting good advice on how to strengthen her immune system.
